TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, but today it spans a multitude of worldwide communities and initiatives exploring everything from science and business to education, arts and global issues. In addition to the TED Talks curated from our annual conferences and published on TED.com, we produce original podcasts, short video series, animated educational lessons (TED-Ed) and TV programs that are translated into more than 100 languages and distributed via partnerships around the world. Each year, thousands of independently run TEDx events bring people together to share ideas and bridge divides in communities on every continent. Through the Audacious Project, TED has helped catalyze more than $3 billion in funding for projects that seek to make the world more beautiful, sustainable and just. In 2020, TED launched Countdown, an initiative to accelerate solutions to the climate crisis and mobilize a movement for a net-zero future, and in 2023 TED launched TED Democracy to spark a new kind of conversation focused on realistic pathways towards a more vibrant and equitable future. In the spirit of discovering and spreading ideas, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

TEDxTaichung is a non-profit organization, independently operated under license from TED. We are a community driven by the passion of volunteers, dedicated to discovering and spreading "Ideas Worth Spreading" across Taiwan. More than just a lecture series, we are building a cross-disciplinary ecosystem. Through high-quality dialogue and intentional curation, we bridge local innovative energy with a global perspective, ensuring that Taiwan’s voice resonates on the world stage.
創立與深耕
2015 年，策展人與 TED 歷經半年的深度討論，正式在台中創立第一個標準活動（Standard Event）——TEDxDadun。自創立以來，我們始終堅持每年固定舉辦高品質的年度盛會。
2021 年，憑藉著與社群共創的斐然成果，我們正式升級為以所在地為名的城市級活動 TEDxTaichung。自此，我們更專注於透過多元策展模式深耕在地社群，並透過 TEDx 平台與全球社群連結，在國際舞台上展露鋒芒。
多元策展
2022 年起，舉辦專注個人成長與平權的 TEDxTaichung Women；2023 年啟動全球連線計畫 TEDxTaichung Live；並每年持續舉辦 TEDx Taiwan Regional Workshop，凝聚在地策展能量。我們不斷超越與突破，將台灣的 ideas 與世界接軌。
國際認可
2023 年，榮獲全球僅 19 名的 TED 獎學金 (TED Scholarship)，代表台灣前往美國參與盛會。2025 年，我們更進一步獲得全球少數的 SUMMIT 資格，同年受 TED 夥伴邀請，前往上海參與面向華人區域的 TEDx Workshop，分享策展核心「如何尋找與篩選講者」。這象徵我們對 TED 精神的實踐、策展專業，以及社群經營的卓越成果，已深獲官方的高度信賴與肯定。
制度化發展
2025 年，我們與志同道合的講者及社群夥伴，共同成立了「臺灣行動家協會 Taiwan Changemaker Association (TCMA)」，旨在制度化地促進 TEDxTaichung 精神之傳播。透過這個法人化的組織，我們致力於推廣創新與啟發性思維，並建立一個穩定且具前瞻性的跨領域合作交流平台，讓改變的力量能持續運轉、永續經營。
Foundation & Deep Roots
In 2015, after six months of deep collaboration with TED, our curator officially established the first Standard Event in Taichung: TEDxDadun. Since our inception, we have remained committed to hosting world-class annual events.
In 2021, fueled by the remarkable achievements of our community, we officially transitioned into TEDxTaichung, a city-level organization. This shift allowed us to focus on diverse curation models that deepen local engagement while connecting with the global TEDx network.
Diverse Curation
Since 2022, we have expanded our reach with TEDxTaichung Women, focusing on personal growth and equity; launched TEDxTaichung Live in 2023; and continue to host the annual TEDx Taiwan Regional Workshop to cultivate curatorial energy across the region.
International Recognition
In 2023, our curator was awarded one of only 19 TED Scholarships worldwide, representing Taiwan at the TED Conference in the U.S. In 2025, we secured the prestigious SUMMIT qualification. That same year, we were invited to the TEDx Workshop in Shanghai to share our core expertise on "Speaker Discovery and Selection," a testament to the official trust and recognition of our professional excellence.
Institutional Growth
In 2025, we co-founded the Taiwan Changemaker Association (TCMA) with our speakers and community partners. This legal entity institutionalizes the TEDxTaichung spirit, fostering innovation and providing a stable, forward-thinking platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

我們深信，改變是讓人進化、通往美好未來的唯一路徑，然而日復一日的生活常使人停滯不前。因此，TEDxTaichung 致力於打破慣性，成為引領大眾邁向改變的關鍵契機。
我們的 Slogan 是「Be the Change」，我們相信「Ideas point the way, Actions make the change.」所有的改變皆源於行動。ideas 拓展了視野，讓人們意識到新的選擇，而行動則賦予我們改變的權力，讓我們真正成為心目中「改變世界的力量」。

We believe that change is the only path to evolution and a better future. Yet, the inertia of daily life often leaves us stagnant. TEDxTaichung exists to break that cycle, serving as a catalyst for transformation.
Our slogan is "Be the Change." We live by the philosophy: "Ideas point the way, Actions make the change." While ideas expand our horizons and reveal new choices, action gives us the power to transform. We empower individuals to "Be the Change you Wish to See in the World."
Every event and action we host is a gathering of changemakers. We are more than a platform for spreading ideas, experiences, and knowledge, more than sharing worthy visions and believings; we are a bridge connecting ambitious souls with influential networks. By bringing together changemakers from diverse backgrounds, we create profound resonance and rare opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.
